Job Description
As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will contribute to the strategic direction and enhancement of our technology products by driving their development, including both Software as a Service (SaaS) and internally developed innovations.
In this role you will require excellent proven project management skills and have knowledge of both traditional project management and agile delivery methodologies. Whilst knowledge of these methodologies is important - practical application is a must - the focus must be on quality and delivery and any processes/documentation must have proven value and be as efficient as possible.
You will ensure that our products align with organisational goals, deliver exceptional value and are launched on time and within budget. You will foster cross-functional collaboration and steer complex projects to successful completion. With a passion for delivery and continual improvement you will look for ways to increase efficiencies not only in your day to day role but also in the delivery teams that you are leading, ensuring that an innovative culture is welcomed and fostered.
As a Senior in the team you will be expected to contribute to the development and mentoring of other Delivery Managers in the team and also contribute to any relevant knowledge sharing sessions or communities of practice.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Take on complex projects that require additional experience to delivery the value that the business need
Drive end-to-end initiative delivery, from scoping and planning to execution and post-implementation support.
Continuously monitor and communicate delivery lifecycle progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Identify and manage interdependencies between delivery teams for software initiatives spanning multiple systems.
Develop detailed project plans and plan releases with product, design, and delivery teams in alignment with overall product strategy.
Collaborate with stakeholders—including users, product managers, designers, business analysts, engineers, and architects—to understand and document requirements for initiatives.
Work with product managers, business analysts and the Engineering Lead to prioritise initiatives and maintain a requirements backlog for your team.
Refine requirements with business analysts and the development team ahead of the development lifecycle.
Plan releases with product, design, and delivery teams in alignment with overall product strategy.
Collect metrics related to delivery team effectiveness and communicate delivery status, risks, and dependencies effectively to senior leadership.
Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing culture within the technical delivery team, with an emphasis on continual learning and improvement.
Coach, mentor and provide knowledge transfer both into the team for others and external to the team across technology and the business is relevant
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
Experience in project management within a technical delivery environment
Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing initiatives by navigating trade-offs, using data to quantify value, and communicating with business stakeholders
Strong attention to detail, especially regarding project statuses and deadlines
Ability to build great teams, fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration
PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or other relevant project management certification preferred
A strong background in agile software development frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), with a commitment to continuously learning new tools and keeping up with current trends
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Familiarity with project management tools, including Jira
Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and build strong relationships
Strong work ethic
