In November 2022, I married my husband. He’s from Wales, but we live in Hong Kong, so it’s always been a dream of ours to spend an extended amount of time with his family, like he has with mine in Hong Kong. I feel incredibly lucky that I could fulfil this with minimal impact onto my work and holiday using our Third Bridge Anywhere benefit.
Essentially this benefit means that any employee can spend up to one month working from pretty much anywhere in the world, which is pretty cool! Our team is hugely diverse at Third Bridge, with many colleagues living away from home, so it’s a great opportunity to spend time with loved ones without dipping into your annual leave.
For me, I took an extended honeymoon travelling around Europe. From Greece to Portugal which was magical, we travelled to Wales to spend some quality time with my new family before visiting London. I couldn’t visit the capital of the UK without paying my amazing London-based colleagues a visit, so it was great to go into our central London office to spend some time with colleagues I speak to every day!
I’m grateful for how easy my manager and Third Bridge made this for me. After just a few meetings about how long I needed, and the logistics of travelling between countries and time zones, we all agreed on a plan to ensure it was a seamless experience for our teams, clients and specialists. Having a good work- life balance and being able to spend quality time with families are two things that I value a lot, and Third Bridge Anywhere helped me achieve both of them.

Expanding Career Opportunities with us
When I joined Third Bridge as an Associate back in March 2020, I was immediately struck by how engaging and supportive I found the training and my new colleagues around me. Third Bridge’s objectives to stay as a people-oriented business and to help our people grow have always been apparent throughout my time here, which were some of the main reasons behind why I decided to apply for a secondment in the Learning and Performance team in our Shanghai office.
The rotation programme is available for employees to explore wider Third Bridge opportunities to expand industry knowledge and skills. The 6 months pushed me both professionally and personally; I loved building upon the skills and knowledge learnt in my previous role, as well as challenging myself with new responsibilities in coaching associates. I knew that this was a path that I wanted to explore further, so once the 6 months came to end I decided to take the opportunity to apply for a permanent role; I’m now officially a Senior Associate in SHG Learning and Performance team with wider responsibilities to help others grow within Third Bridge!
At Third Bridge you are always given the support, encouragement, and opportunity to explore and grow both personally and professionally. The culture here challenges me to go further and I’m grateful for all the opportunities available to support my professional experience. I’m looking forward to starting this next chapter!
