GRADUATES

We are often asked what makes a typical Third Bridge graduate. There is no easy answer to this. Our team is diverse and international, but what they share is entrepreneurial flair and a drive to make things happen.

As a graduate, you will join the research team in our Connections division, where you will learn how to track down the most relevant people to help investors answer questions across a wide range of industry sectors.

What will you do?

What will you do?

The Role

The skills you have learned during your training will help you identify experts who are leaders in their field and can provide real value to our clients. We’ll challenge you to think creatively about each client project and look at their need from multiple perspectives. You will find ways of reaching out to these experts and connecting them with the client. You won’t be living in Excel and PowerPoint, or out of a suitcase – you’ll be on the phone having conversations about global business and sector developments. These are things you could be reading about days or months later in the pages of the Financial Times.

Over the first year your knowledge and your ability to deliver on client projects will grow exponentially. It is a process that requires you to think creatively, react thoughtfully and act decisively. Each project is a new challenge and you will not only feel that you are improving with each month, but you will be able to see it in real time on our performance tracker.

a typical day

  • BreakdownOfYourDay_1.jpg

Your day starts with a scan of overnight communication from clients or our other international offices, looking out for urgent project requests and queries. You could be working on projects looking at India, Iceland or Israel, and it is your responsibility to identify the right people who can answer your clients’ questions.

  • BreakdownOfYourDay_2.jpg

Your morning is busy with finding suitable people to help with a new project request. Unless you are already familiar with the sector, you will spend some time learning about the value chain – conducting your own research, speaking to other members of the team and searching our knowledge library – before hitting the phones to contact senior-level industry professionals.

  • BreakdownOfYourDay_3.jpg

Lots of choices. You might join a Brown Bag lunch with our founders, attend an in-house presentation by one of our clients, take advantage of our great office location to eat out with your team, or challenge someone to a game of Super Mario Kart on the Wii.

  • BreakdownOfYourDay_4.jpg

Your client is happy with the people you have found, so you start scheduling consultations. These consultation hours will all contribute to your team’s target as well as your personal target. Relationship building is a critical part of your role so you get in touch with some of your other clients, to see if they are working on anything you could help with.

  • BreakdownOfYourDay_5.jpg

A new project from one of your clients; they need to get smart quickly about a US-based company they are thinking of buying. Once you have set up the project and identified some potential experts who can help, our New York team jumps in to see how they can help you.

It’s Thursday, so you head down to our local pub with your team. This is a great opportunity to meet new joiners or catch up with Third Bridge alumni who have dropped by to say hi.

What we're looking for from you

What we're looking for from you

We are particularly interested in graduates with foreign language skills – these will be a real advantage, but not essential. What is vital is that you show the right personal qualities and competencies. We’ve been doing this a while, so we know what kind of person will thrive and succeed here. How would you answer these questions about yourself?

  • TTL310714C0146-400x303.jpg
Are you resourceful? Do you take the initiative?
  • TTL310714C0209-400x303.jpg
Do you have a reputation for reliability and trustworthiness?
  • TTL310714C0194-400x303.jpg
Can you handle pressure, change and a fast-paced environment?
  • TTL310714C0210-400x303.jpg
Would other people describe you as a persuasive and articulate communicator?
  • TTL310714C0031-400x303.jpg
Can you work just as well independently and as part of a team?
  • TTL310714C0184-400x303.jpg
Are you good at solving problems?

If you've answered 'yes' to all of these questions, you could have what it takes to flourish at Third Bridge.

Training and Development

Training starts the day you join and never stops. You will find that we will invest continually in your professional growth. In fact, the amount of focus we put on development is one of the key reasons why great people choose to join Third Bridge.

The first phase of your training is focused on helping you fast-track crucial skills such as communication, problem-solving and project management. The second phase teaches you about the industries we cover, as well as how our clients work. As you grow in responsibility, we show you how to manage others and prepare you to lead your own team. You will learn from a wide range of people – all the way from the CEO through to your colleagues.

Our business model means you will be interacting with our clients right from the start, so you’ll need to show us you have what it takes to progress rapidly. Everyone gets the same opportunities at Third Bridge – it’s down to you to make the most of them. Most of our Team Leaders joined us as Analysts and achieved leadership roles within two years.

Interview process

the interview process

We’re pretty choosy about who we hire – we want to make sure that there is a great fit and that you are successful here. It is a very important decision for you and us. This has led us to develop a fun, intense and interactive interview process that gives us a chance to get to know you, and gives you the opportunity to meet with people from different teams.

  • Online application
Apply directly via our website. Just scroll to the top and click on JOB SEARCH & APPLY.

  • Telephone interview
If your CV has what it takes, you will be invited to a telephone interview with a member of our HR team so we can start to get to know each other. This will last 20-30 minutes and we will ask you to give some examples of how you demonstrate the key competencies we are looking for.

  • Feedback
We won't make you wait very long and, if we like what we heard, you will be invited to one of our Super Days, where you will complete the rest of the interview process.
